In 1986 Mr. Slade became a bar member of the U. S. Supreme Court. He has been involved with several constitutional law cases before the Supreme Court. In one case, Phillips Petroleum v. Mississippi, Mr. Slade was the Counsel of Record for the Thirteen Original States. Mr. Slade also covers the U.S. Supreme Court in his "Eye on the High Court" article, published in the World & I Magazine. Mr. Slade's "Eye on the High Court" describes the cases in plain english, describing the historical underpinnings and the case's impact on American's daily life, making the sometimes mysterious Supreme Court familiar and understandable to the ordinary citizen. |
Mr. Slade has served in the General Counsel Office of the U.S. Department
of Commerce, on the National Advisory Committee on Oceans and Atmosphere,
and as General Counsel and Director of the Coastal States Organization
in Washington, D.C, representing the views of the 35 governors of the coastal

testified before the United States Senate and House of Representatives
on
topics ranging from fisheries, environmental law, constitutional law and
international affairs.
| Over the years Mr. Slade came to love and enjoy his
work with Seniors and Elders, and began to focus his private practice more
and more on Elder Law. He takes pride in being able to explain complex
topics of the law in plain english, so that the client can make the best
decisions. Mr. Slade also takes pride in being one of the very few
attorneys that will make client visits at their home, in the hospital or
at their living facility.
